Direct Primary Care is not health insurance. It may complement an employer health plan, high-deductible plan, or health-sharing arrangement to ensure comprehensive coverage for primary care, inpatient hospitalization or emergency situations. As of January,2026, Federal laws allow people to use tax-free Health Saving Account(HSA) to pay for DPC membership fees. Also, having a DPC membership does not disqualify you from contributing to a HSA as long as you pair your DPC membership with an eligible health plan like a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).
